Information is power. And even in the field of empowering people with power of information, there are many efforts such as Wikipedia which can revolutionise the world. And crowdsourcing is the ultimate volunteer force to execute these projects. How to get such projects off the ground until they gain momentum, and subsequently how to sustain them is then an important question.
The recent effort to use crowdsourcing to gather consumer price index data is one such effort.
